The Tamil Nadu Dr.Ambedkar Law University being a State University was established for the advancement of legal education in the State of Tamil Nadu ensury to provide legal education at International standard. The institution upholds promotion of quality research for the benefit of the larger society. Legal Education, combined with social equity cutting across the regional, linquistic barriers is delivered to the students, which in turn adds value to the development of the nation. Being a Law Varsity, the values upheld by the Constitution of India is inculcated in the curriculum and overall learning process of the students. The faculty of the varsity ensures inculcation of Professional Ethics among the students. Equality in terms of race, gender and religion is ensured in the day to day functioning of the University through various Bodies established within the institution . In addition to these values, the institution produces potential law bearing citizens who are capable of adding values in the existing legal system of the country.

It is striving hard to impart quality legal education to meet national and global challenges towards accomplishing its mission. For students, the degree represents certification of competence, and a passport to advanced legal education or gainful employment in the field of law, livelihood and prosperity. This 25 years old University, being a pioneer institution in offering legal education in southern India with robust vision and mission, had won many laurels in the past. The Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University has a well-defined research policy that aims in inculcating continuous legal research impetus among the faculty members and students. Research Policy of the University is equipped in such a way that it caters to the contemporary national and international requirements. It creates a vibrant atmosphere for research works.

A world class Central Library is situtated in the Perungudi Campus is having a rare collection of law and other social sciences book. A number of legal databases are subscribed by the University for the effective utilization of research purpose at international level. The library block is equipped with a Computer Lab separately to cater to the need of the students and faculty members. It is worthy to note that there is a separate Audio-Visual Centre containing various equipments and software for the Differently abled students and scholars. The institution being an affiliated college is committed to impart the curriculum framed and mandated by the University. The curriculum has various courses which intend to develop awareness and sensitivity in cross cutting issues relating to gender, human values, environment and sustainability and professional ethics. It infuses a scientific process of developing a desirable form of thinking and ability to deal with issues related to values that forms a significant aspect of all the areas of human development.
